Poetry from Tai Chi Stradbroke Island Event 2009

The weekend included a session on Poetry / Haiku / Cinquain writing. We had the choice of these (or other) styles and everyone had the chance to write a short poem. We displayed these on the wall, and voted on the six best, with the prizes being Tai Chi figurines.

The Winners!

Lohan

Intense, precise
Strengthening, active, empowering
Focusing on the Chi
Warrior.

Master

Dedicated teacher
Giving, learning, doing
Sharing love of art
Mentor.

Bluebells

Pretty, coloured
Covering, creeping, spreading
Filling spaces between the trees
Flowers.

Pebbles

Spherical stones
Rolling, squabbling, chuckling
Below the breaking waves
Sea-pearls.

When the moon hangs low
And bodies flow, bracelets glow
Tai Chi on Stradbroke.

Little crab sand balls;
Pushed from a hole in the beach
And squashed by a foot.
